Marie (Avolio) Raio

Marie Raio (nee Avolio), age 99, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 24, 2024 at the Preferred Care at Wall.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, to John and Matilde Avolio, she was a longtime resident of Clark. She worked for Drexel Burnham Lambert of NYC in the data entry department for over 20 years. Mrs. Raio was a regular at the Clark Community Pool and was an avid cook. She was excellent at crocheting and was a top notch seamstress.

She is survived by her four children; Charles (Penny), Joan Mate (Marty), Carol Di Donato, and Patricia Mahoney (Michael); eight grandchildren, Melinda (Peter), Christopher (Vicky), Kymberly (Leo), Erik Lauren), Michael, Peter, Brittany, and Rachel; seven great grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Robert), Michael (Melanie), Nicholas, Fiona, Viviana, Adrian, and Valentina.

She was affectionately known as Nona to Carol’s stepchildren; Nicole and Chris, Lauren and Mike, Anthony and Bridget; and great step grandchildren Ellie, Abbie, Olivia, Hudson and Harrison. 

Mrs. Raio, is predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years Angelo “Charlie” Raio (2000).
